So, I likely don't have the infection that the night clinic told me I had. I found that out during my adventure at the ER last night.
For the past month and a half, I've had increasing shortness of breath (especially lying down), shooting pain up through my pelvic cavity area, aches and pains everywhere, sharp chest pain, lower back pain (radiating from where it hurts around my pelvic area), and (more recently) shooting pain up my back and shoulders. I was told that the pain in my pelvic area was from a bladder infection, so I was on antibiotics for it. The first round didn't work, so I just started a second, stronger round a few days ago.
Last night, the shortness of breath got to be way too much, so I went to the ER. I was seen almost right away; at first just for the shortness of breath, but then for all the other pain.
Over the next four and a half hours, I was shuffled through various wards of the hospital for different tests. I had three or four x-rays (not all at the same time; I went back and forth a few times), blood work, an EKG, and from that they did various other tests; I was poked and prodded and tapped and listened to; and it's been determined that I'm perfectly healthy.
Seriously. I'm in crippling pain every day, but I'm perfectly healthy.
From the results (the doctor brought in what was practically a booklet, there were so many pages), they were able to rule out pleurisy, pneumonia, asthma and bronchitis (the latter two I know I don't have), lung clots or tumors, coronary heart disease or any arterial issues, diabetes, anemia (which is great - I'm not anemic anymore, at least!), almost anything to do with my digestive and urinary systems, gallstones or kidney stones (I guess that's part of the digestive/urinary thing), appendicitis, and other things they probably didn't even bother telling me.
The urinary system tests might not be accurate because I was on antibiotics at the time. The doctor gave me medication for I don't even know what, and told me to see my family doctor if the pain didn't go away. If it doesn't, I'm going to have to get an ultrasound for ovarian cysts... but that's just a shot in the dark, because they honestly don't know what to make of me. Because I'm supposedly perfectly healthy.
I am Krizzle, the Medical Mystery.
